:.38

TUESDAY

NOVEMBER 26, 1974

By letter and in person, Mr. Tommie Tinsley, of 846 New York Avenue, recommended

that a boxing gymnasium be provided for young people within the City, with Mr.

Tinsley offering to manage and supervise same, whereby a recreational outlet

would be made available to those young people who reportedly now have nothing

to occupy their time. Council referred Mr. Tinsley to the local YMCA Director,

suggesting that the YMCA facility might--through its programs--meet the need of

said young people.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by a recorded unanimous vote, Council convened

into an Executive Session for the purpose of considering the naming of nominees

to the Judge of Martinsville City Circuit Court for appointment by the Judge to

the Real Estate Equalization Board for the City. Following this Executive

Session, Council reconvened into regular session and announced that this matter

had been discussed but no action is being taken at this time.

Council was adjourned.

w.

Clerk of Council
