<br />334 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 26, 1974 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsvi1le, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor Harry L. Boaz presiding, was held Tuesday, November 26, <br /> <br />1974, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members <br /> <br />being present, viz., Harry L. Boaz, Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice Mayor; <br /> <br />Morton W. Lester; G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; and Barry A. Greene. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held November 12, 1974. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council endorsed Mr. <br /> <br />Joseph E. Finley, Director of Instruction for the Martinsville Public School <br /> <br />System, for an at-large membership on the West Piedmont Planning District <br /> <br />Commission's Drug Abuse Control Council, to succeed Mr. William E. Rhodies, <br /> <br />resigned. Council also unanimously recommended to the WPPDC's Board of <br /> <br />Commissioners, for its consideration in making appointments of at-large <br /> <br />members on the WPPDC's various Policy Advisory Committees, the following citizens: <br /> <br />Mrs. G. B. Adams, Jr.; Mrs. Claudia B. Caldwell; Mrs. John F. Hutchinson; Mrs. <br /> <br />Ronald A. Ressel; Mrs. James Prettyman, III; Mr. Carl Burgess; Mr. E. L. Dupuy; <br /> <br />Mr. William C. Edwards; Mr. Raymond Fontaine; Mr. Douglas Ramsey; and Mr. <br /> <br />George W. Woody, Jr. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Noland, and at the request of interested <br /> <br />citizens, Council unanimously adopted the following ordinance amending <br /> <br />Sub-Section (3) of Section 11-10 of the City Code, pertaining to permit <br /> <br />requirements and restrictions for the conduct of public dances within the City: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this twenty-sixth day of November, 1974, that <br />Sub-Section (3) of Section 11-10 of the Code of Martinsville, Virginia <br />(1971, and as amended), be and is hereby amended to provide that the <br />second paragraph of said Sub-Section (3) is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br />
