<br />3" <br />I: <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 12, 1974 <br /> <br />,,,,,"'-"" <br /> <br />Commission (dated November 12, 1974), Council was informed that petitioner requests no action <br /> <br />within Commonwealth Boulevard property requested rezoned; however, by report of the Planning <br /> <br />on said Special-Use Permit application at this time. The Planning Commission having approved <br /> <br />Council adopted the following ordinances amending the City's Zoning Map and effecting said <br /> <br />said property rezoning requests, and there being no objections registered thereto by anyone, <br /> <br />requested rezoning: <br /> <br />,..-. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br />meeting assembed this twelfth day of November, 1974, that the Zoning Map of the <br />City of Martinsville be, and is hereby, amended to effect an "R-9" zoning <br />classification for that property consisting of approximately three acres situated <br />on the east side of Fairy Street, opposite the Martinsville Senior High School <br />tennis courts, which property is owned by Lester Properties, a division of the <br />Lester Group, Inc., and is that same tract as was rezoned to "R-6" by effecting <br />ordinance adopted by Martinsville City Council on February 12, 1974. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br />meeting assembled this twelfth day of November, 1974, that the Zoning Map of the <br />City of Martinsville be--and is hereby--amended to effect a "C...;3 Commercial" <br />zoning classification of that property (formerly zoned "R-6") owned by Lester <br />Properties, a division of The Lester Group, Inc., consisting of approximately <br />5.07 acres fronting the south side of Commonwealth Boulevard for a distance of <br />approximately 830 feet, being situated between the east property line of the <br />Martinsville-Henry County Health Department and the west boundary line of the <br />present "M-l" zoned district adjacent to and west of property currently occupied <br />by Mitchell-Howell Ford, Inc. <br /> <br />Council deferred to a duly-held Executive Session, following this regular meeting, its <br /> <br />consideration of naming nominees for at-large membership on Policy Advisory Committees of the <br /> <br />West Piedmont Planning District Commission. <br /> <br />of the Commonwealth of Virginia, representing the City's share of unspent funds for 1973-74 <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a check in the amount of $6,977.31 from the Department of Health <br /> <br />resulting from unfilled positions at the Martinsville-Henry County Health Department. <br />
