<br />')0 <br />1-01 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 8, 1974 <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Councilman Fitz-Hugh, concerning the status of the <br /> <br />Brookdale Road construction project, it was learned that some delay in the proceeding <br /> <br />therewith has developed from right-of-way acquisition problems, particularly in finding <br /> <br />housing for residents to be relocated, thus causing the Virginia Highway Department to <br /> <br />revise its schedule, which now calls for advertising for construction bids on this project <br /> <br />in January-February of 1975. <br /> <br />Upon request of the CBD Study Commission, Council unanimously adjourned into an Executive <br /> <br />Session for the purpose of considering a real estate matter pertaining to Phase One of the <br /> <br />downtown redevelopment project. Following this Session, Council reconvened into regular <br /> <br />session and, acting as the Martinsville Redevelopment & Housing Authority, unanimously <br /> <br />authorized Assistant City Manager-Public Works Director George W. Brown, as Agent, to make <br /> <br />a final offer of $22,500.00 to the owners of property identified as the Katsifos property for <br /> <br />the purchase of said property located on the west side of North Bridge Street. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />0~~Y~ 0:.. -. -" . . <br />W.
