<br />30 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 13, 1974 <br /> <br />/.........--, <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council convened into an Executive Session <br /> <br />for the purposes of considering (1) real estate matters or property acquisition and (2) personnel <br /> <br />matters. At the conclusion of said Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular session <br /> <br /><- <br /> <br />and unanimously authorized the following: <br />(a) the purchase of approximately four acres of land, contiguous to the City's Water <br />Pollution Control Plant site, from Messrs. Worth Carter and Claude Hodges, at a <br />price of $3,500.00 per acre, said property being acquired for future expansion <br />needs; and <br />(b) the purchase by the CBD Study Commission, for the Martinsville Redevelopment <br />& Housing Authority and from allocated Revenue-Sharing funds, the fifteen parcels <br />(hereinbefore referred to) of property within the first phase of the downtown <br />renewal program, as per purchase options and/or agreements secured, meanwhile <br />authorizing the continuance of negotiations for the remaining parcels. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />w. )~':(~;':cierk of Council <br />
