<br />.......... <br /> <br />--J <br /> <br />297 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 23, 1974 <br /> <br />",-.... <br /> <br />by anyone and, in acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation (dated June 10, <br /> <br />1974) that petition be granted, Council adopted the following ordinance effecting the <br /> <br />requested rezoning and amending the City's Zoning Map accordingly: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this twenty-third day of July, 1974, that the <br />Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be, and is hereby, amended to <br />reflect a "P-2 Professional" zoning classification of that property <br />owned by Logan Gray, Inc., situated at the southwest corner of Starling <br />Avenue at Brown Street and further identified as "100 Starling Avenue". <br /> <br />,,-- <br /> <br />In connection with improvements recently requested of the Virginia Department of Highways <br /> <br />& Transportation by the Henry County Board of Supervisors to Routes 108 and 882, which <br /> <br />request was supported by City Council, Council adopted the following resolution requesting <br /> <br />said Department to amend the Martinsville Thoroughfare Plan to the extent of advancing <br /> <br />the Route 108 project to Construction Stage 2, with the proviso that such reassignment <br /> <br />priority will not replace or interfere with construction stage priorities previously <br /> <br />assigned all other projects encompassed in the adopted Martinsville Thoroughfare Plan: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under date of May 14, 1974, Martinsville City Council went on <br />record as joining in with the Henry County Board of Supervisors in said <br />Supervisors' request for improvements to Route 882 and to Route 108, as <br />outlined by said Supervisors' resolution dated April 29, 1974; and <br /> <br />,,-- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under date of July 22, 1974, said Board of Supervisors adopted <br />a supplemental resolution pertaining to the above-mentioned improvements, <br />further requesting the amending of the Martinsville Thoroughfare Plan, <br />particularly--as to the City of Martinsville--concerning Route 108 and <br />the advancing of this project to Construction Stage 2; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this twenty-third day of July, 1974, that it <br />does hereby request the Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation <br />to amend the Martinsville Thoroughfare Plan so as to reassign recommended <br />improvements to Route 108 from Construction Stage 4 to Construction Stage <br />2, with the understanding and proviso that such reassignment will not <br />replace or interfere with construction stage priorities previously <br />assigned all other projects encompassed in the adopted Martinsville <br />Thoroughfare Plan. <br /> <br />"..... <br /> <br />-9 <br /> <br />un <br />
