<br />2~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY l4, 1974 <br /> <br />,-- <br /> <br />(Route 220 North) between Harris Court and the rear lot lines of properties <br /> <br />fronting the west side of Beaver Street and the rear lot lines of properties <br /> <br />fronting the north side of Fayette Street. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council accepted the <br /> <br />following report and reconnnendation of the Planning Connnission pertaining <br /> <br />".-- <br /> <br />to the proposed Central Business District Redevelopment Plan: <br /> <br />It.....that since the implementation of the CBD redevelopment has begun <br />and there is evidence that there will be a seven-year time lag in <br />Highway Department participation in new streets, the Council take <br />under advisement the possible use of money normally appropriated to <br />curb and gutter programs and street lighting programs in the <br />development of the Mulberry Extension project which carries a first <br />priority as related to the CB~'. <br /> <br />At the request of the local Anchor Commission, represented by the Honorable <br /> <br />J. English Ford, Judge of the 21st District Juvenil~ & Domestic Relations <br /> <br />Court, Council agreed to hold a duly-advertised Public Hearing, jointly with <br /> <br />the Planning Connnission, at Council's forthcoming June 25th meeting, on the <br /> <br />Anchor Commission's application for a Special-Use Permit to allow operation <br /> <br />of a probation home for girls at a location on the south side of Brown Street, <br /> <br />between Cleveland and Starling Streets. Also, Council unanimously reaffirmed <br /> <br />and continued its approval of the program involving probation homes, as <br /> <br />founded and presently conducted by the Anchor Commission. <br /> <br />Council referred to the City Planning Connnission--for its consideration and <br /> <br />reconnnendation--a petition filed by Mr. W. A. Mason, requesting the abandoning <br /> <br />by the City (in favor of Mr. Mason) a parcel of land consisting of .047 acre <br /> <br />(heretofore leased to Mr. Mason) and situated at the intersection of Starling <br /> <br />Avenue and Memorial Boulevard South. <br />
