<br />... q <br />J '....t' <br /> <br />FRIDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 30~ 1973 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried~ Council convened into an <br /> <br />/"..,..-..- <br /> <br />Executive Session to receive and consider a staff briefing on the proposed sewer <br /> <br />service contract and the status of negotiations thereon, following which Council <br /> <br />reconvened into regular (and adjourned) session where, upon motion (duly <br /> <br />seconded and unanimously carried), Council authorized the City Administration <br /> <br />and the City Attorney, in their discretion~ to release to the public any and/or <br /> <br />all information pertaining to (1) the Henry County Public Service Authority's <br /> <br />/- <br /> <br />sewer service contract request filed with the Council on March 13, 1973, (2) <br /> <br />the study and consideration subsequently given by the City to this request, (3) <br /> <br />the status of negotiations on a contract, which would grant said request~ <br /> <br />between the City and said Public Service Authority~ (4) the role of the Virginia <br /> <br />Water Control Board (and its representatives) not only in this specific matter <br /> <br />but also the Board's directives to, and demands upon~ the City of Martinsville <br /> <br />regarding the upgrading and/or expanding by the City of its sewerage facilities <br /> <br />to serve regional needs (i.e.~ without regard to jurisdictional boundaries)~ <br /> <br />with or without Federal aid~ and (5) other pertinent information, any or all <br /> <br />of which, in the opinion of the City Administration and the City Attorney~ would <br /> <br />be in--and best serve--the public interest and the citizens of Martinsville. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />W.~~~'t~:Clerk <br /> <br />of Council <br />
