<br />90 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 27, 1973 <br /> <br />Noting that its regularly-scheduled second meeting in the month of December, <br /> <br />1973, falls on Christmas Day, Council cancelled said meeting date but, in <br /> <br />lieu thereof, agreed to meet in duly-called session, if necessary, at a date <br /> <br />to be established by call thereof. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Noland, Council declared all of Monday, <br /> <br />December 24, 1973, as a holiday for City employees. <br /> <br />Council unanimously reappointed Mr. James E. Price to a three-year term <br /> <br />(beginning January 1, 1974) on the Piedmont Mental Health & Mental Retardation <br /> <br />Services Board. <br /> <br />Council approved--for execution by appropriate City officials--an agreement <br /> <br />or contract with the Frith interests or family, to whom permission was <br /> <br />recently granted to connect property (originally purchased by the City as <br /> <br />a sewage disposal plant site and subsequently sold to the Frith interests) <br /> <br />adjacent to the City's Industrial Park to the Industrial Park water system, <br /> <br />which agreement or contract sets forth conditions under which water <br /> <br />service will be furnished said property. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council convened into <br /> <br />Executive Session for the purposes of (1) receiving a briefing by staff <br /> <br />members on legal aspects of proposed sewer service contract with the Henry <br /> <br />County Public Service Authority, for which and on which negotiations have been <br /> <br />in process; and (2) considering the rate of compensation to be paid members <br /> <br />of the 1974 Board of Assessors. Following this Executive Session, Council <br /> <br />reconvened into regular session and announced that no conclusions have been <br /> <br />----""_.""~""~ ."""","""-~".,,._....,,.- <br />
