West presiding, was held Tuesday, September 25, 1973, in the

Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P. M., all members being present, viz.,

Francis T. West, Mayor; Harry L. Boaz, Vice Mayor; W. Donald Hartford; William D. Hobson;

and Morton W. Lester.

After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular meeting

held September 11, 1973.

In connection with Council's recent request of the Henry County Board of Supervisors,

viz., that the County sell back to the City that property identified as the "Old City

Shop" off Jones Street (which was sold to Henry County in 1968 for development of a new

Henry County Jail), Council was informed that said supervisors have offered to lease

to the City the first floor or ground level of the building thereon, plus 1,000 square

feet on the second floor, at a rate of $150.00 per month for a term not to exceed one

year, at the end of which time consideration will be given to leasing for an additional

period of time and/or to re-selling the property to the City. Council referred

this matter to the City Attorney and City administrative personnel, suggesting that they

confer with Henry County counterparts, and submit recommendation thereon at Council's

forthcoming October 9th meeting.

Council unanimously reappointed Messrs.
