.-

.-

-

r'
L

TUESDAY

DECEMBER 12, 1972

motion was made, seconded, and carried unanimously that the City offer to

exchange certain parcels of land with Mr. Clay Earles, the parcels being

located on the north side of State Route 641, which road borders the south

side of the City's Industrial Park, outside the City limits, with the

stipulation that the City would deed approximately 16,000 sq. fto"to

Mr. Earles, on condition that Mr. Earles deed to the City approximately

3,200 sq. ft., paying the City for the net differential for land received,

at a cost of $7,000 per acre, reduced to a sq. ft. relationship.

In another real estate matter, motion was made, seconded, and carried

unanimously that the City accept the offer of Mr. J. D. Clift, that he sell

to the City Lot No. 25, located on the south side of Brown Street, being a

lot fronting 58 feet on Brown Street, for the price of $12,500. It was pointed

out that this is the same price the City paid for a corner lot, in 1967, being

only one lot away from subject lot, with the further explanation that all or a

part of this lot would be needed at the time the City extends Mulberry Road

to connect with Brown Street at its intersection with Ellsworth Street. It

was explained that the purchase of the lot would be charged to the Highway

Thoroughfare Account, as right-of-way cost.

Council expressed its appreciation to Mr. Clift for what it believed to be a

very fair offer of sale.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m.

,

>:!7~

.~

T.
