<br />"' " <br /> <br />{; ~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 14, 1972 <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />Also, there was discussion of the need of enforcing the ordinance regulating the <br /> <br />parking of vehicles on streets where curb and gutter has been constructed, during <br /> <br />the early morning hours, since such parking interferes with street sweeping or <br /> <br />street flushing. <br /> <br />George W. Lester, II, Executive Vice-President of Lester Lumber Company, Inc., <br /> <br />appeared before Council to request: <br /> <br />1. That the City rezone from "R-9" Residential to "R-6" Residential <br /> <br />classification a parcel of land from a point at the intersection of <br /> <br />Jones Creek and Northside Drive and running for a distance of <br /> <br />approximately 800 feet, and from that area in a westerly direction <br /> <br />approximately 200 feet to the C&NW railroad. <br /> <br />2. That Council close and abandon portions of Elizabeth Street, Elizabeth <br /> <br />Boulevard, a portion of Fontaine Street and Hobson's Alley, these <br /> <br />streets being adjacent to the intersection of Liberty Street and the <br /> <br />new Commonwealth Boulevard. <br /> <br />On motion made, seconded and duly carried, these two petitions were referred to <br /> <br />the Planning Commission for consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />/>J /~~ <br /> <br />Noland, Acting Clerk of Council <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />T.
