<br />~82 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 25, 1977 <br /> <br />Council referred to the Public Works Department a problem presented by Mr. D. B. McCullough, <br /> <br />of 712 Parkview Avenue, involving the picking up (or the failure to pick up) coal clinkers <br /> <br />placed at the curbside and/or the failure by City refuse-collection personnel to leave the <br /> <br />container belonging to Mr. McCullough. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried (by recorded vote), and pursuant to <br /> <br />Section 2.1-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), Council convened into an <br /> <br />Executive Session for the purposes of (1) considering property negotiations and/or <br /> <br />acquisition and (2) considering a personnel matter involving nominations and/or <br /> <br />appointments to an adjunct committee of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission. <br /> <br />Upon reconvening into regular session, and upon motion (duly seconded and unanimously <br /> <br />carried), Council authorized active negotiations on the part of the City toward acquiring <br /> <br />some thirty-four acres of land in the vicinity of the City's Land-Fill operation and toward <br /> <br />exchanging a portion of such land, if acquired, for land of an adjoining land-owner. Council <br /> <br />continued its consideration of nominating and/or appointing members to said adjunct committee, <br /> <br />identified as the Overall Economic Development Plan Committee. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />W. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br />
