60 WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 1977 Council referred to the Planning Commission, for its determination as to land-use compatibility and related aspects, a request filed by Wells & Donavant Construction Company for permission to connect to a City water main along Chatham Heights, outside the City's corporate limits, to provide water service for petitioner's proposed l2-unit apartment complex. Council also referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and recommendation, the following property rezoning petitions: (1) from the D. H. Pannill Heirs, seeking the rezoning from "R-9" to "P-2" of petitioner's property located at 623 East Church Street; and (2) from Bennett & Wilson, Realtors, on behalf of Mrs. J. W. Booker, seeking the rezoning of Mrs. Booker's property at 212 Starling Avenue from "R-6" to "P-2". Council acknowledged receipt, through the City's administration, of six bids submitted for the construction of water and sewer lines to serve Nationwide Homes" Deerfield Acres subdivision and, upon recommendation of the City's administration, accepted the low bid of $46,290.00 submitted by J. R. Cundiff, Jr., Construction Company, under Division II of the bid proposal, whereby water lines will be installed to serve the entire subdivision of fifty-one lots but, because the developer does not yet desire to develop eleven of these lots, sewer lines will be installed for forty lots. Upon motion by Vice-Mayor Cole, duly seconded, Council appointed Mr. William Murphy, representing the school system, to membership on the City's Highway Safety Commission, replacing Ms. Ruby Brogan, resigned, who also represented the school system while a member of the Commission.
