Gard, Sr., pointed out that these locations are on <br /> <br />private properties and to eliminate such disturbances on private properties requires <br /> <br />compliance of the owners with certain applicable statutes before the Police Department <br /> <br />can assist therein. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Cole questioned the reported naming of the City's Recreation Department as <br /> <br />an agency through which Federal assistance may be obtained by those persons eligible <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />for the recently-made-available financial aid toward the payment of fuel and/or <br /> <br />utility bills, meanwhile requesting City Manager Noland to investigate the role of <br /> <br />the Recreation Department in this matter. An explanation by Councilman Greene <br /> <br />indicated that this department, in its association with the State Agency on Aging, <br /> <br />would serve only as one location (of several) where applications for such assistance <br /> <br />may be obtained. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />w.
