<br />76 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY lO, 1977 <br /> <br />City School Board on April 25, 1977, and which figures were itemized in detail by <br /> <br />the School Board at said April 25th meeting. Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously <br /> <br />carried, Council approved said School Board's 1977-78 budget request. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the City's administrative staff, Council unanimously adopted <br /> <br />a proposed swimming pool ordinance, as considered on third reading at Council's meeting <br /> <br />held April 26, 1977, and as most recently revised, which adopted ordinance amends a <br /> <br />portion of Chapter 9, Article I, of the City's Code, with the stipulation that pools <br /> <br />with existing conditions requiring alterations and/or new equipment, in order to comply <br /> <br />with the terms of this ordinance, will be granted a six-months' "waiver" period to <br /> <br />comply therewith. A copy of said ordinance is herewith included in these minutes by <br /> <br />insert. <br /> <br />At the request of the City's Electoral Board, and subject to concurrence by the <br /> <br />appropriate Federal agency, Council authorized the City Registrar's office to be open--in <br /> <br />addition to its regular office hours--to the public, for registration purposes, during <br /> <br />the hours of 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on May lO, 1977 and on May l3, 1977 and, also, <br /> <br />from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, May l4, 1977, noting that a local primary <br /> <br />election will be held June l4, 1977. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council granted the request (by <br /> <br />letter dated May 2, 1977) of Ray D. Frith & Partners, seeking additional water service <br /> <br />for domestic use and fire protection for a warehouse facility, between Smith River and <br /> <br />the City's Industrial Park, which applicant proposes to expand for a local industry. In <br /> <br />connection therewith, Mr. J. Burness Frith, a partner in applicant's firm, noting that <br /> <br />land for industrial development in the area is becoming scarce, urged Council to make <br /> <br />the maximum usage of the remaining City-owned property within the Industrial Park. <br />
