35 TUESDAY MARCH 22, 1977 .- BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled, that the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended, as follows: (SECTION IV. NONCONFORMITY) (to Subsection "C", "Nonconforming Uses of Land", add:) 4. Any use of land made nonconforming by an amendment to this ordinance requiring screening as defined herein may continue for a period of time not to exceed two years, after which the use shall conform. ~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled, that the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended, as follows: (SECTION V. DISTRICT USE REGULATIONS) (to Subsection "J", "C-3 Commercial District", add:) 20. Such outside storage as defined herein existing at the time of adoption of this amendment and provided such is properly screened as defined under the definition section of this ordinance, subject to Section IV, Para. 4. (in Subsection "K", "M-1 Industrial District", sub-paragraph 2, line 4, change fourth line thereof to read:) "with 90 percent or more vision obscurity". In connection with the request filed with Council at its March 8th meeting .- by officials and representatives of the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, seeking a contribution from the City of $4,500.00 toward the cost of constructing a new Chamber of Commerce office building at its present site (115 Broad Street), and in connection with certain questions raised at said March 8th meeting, Mr. Benjamin R. Gardner, Attorney at Law and President of the local Chamber of Commerce, informed Council that the Chamber's Board of Directors, by a majority vote at its meeting on March 21, 1977, went on record as supporting and authorizing the hereinabove referred-to request.
