326 TUESDAY JANUARY 25, 1977 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor William D. Hobson presiding, was held Tuesday, January 25, 1977, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., William D. Hobson, Mayor; William C. Cole, Jr., Vice Mayor; Barry A. Greene; L. D. Oakes; and Francis T. West. After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded, with the correction of reference to Vice-Mayor Cole, when it should have been to Councilman Oakes, who initiated the commendation of Public Works personnel for their speedy attention to recent snow-and-ice conditions--the minutes of its regular meeting held January 11, 1977. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on the Planning Commission's proposal and recommendation that Paragraph "C" of Section VIII of the City's Zoning Ordinance be amended to allow for the operating of Homes for the Aged under the Special-Use Permit section thereof. There being no objections registered thereto, Council unanimously adopted the following ordinance amending said Zoning Ordinance, as hereinabove referred to and recommended: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvi11e, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-fifth day of January, 1977, that Paragraph "C" of Section VIII of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Martinsvi1le be--and is hereby--amended to include the following, as sub-paragraph or "Part 9": 9. Residential Home for Adults. A residential structure designed for use as a Home for Adults may be allowed in the R-6 Residential, P-1 and P-2 Professional and the C-3 Commercial Districts subject to
