<br />313 <br /> <br />THURSDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 30, 1976 <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsvi11e, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor William D. Hobson presiding, was held Thursday, <br /> <br />December 30, 1976, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 11:00 A.M., <br /> <br />this meeting having been rescheduled from Tuesday, December 28, 1976, by <br /> <br />order of Council issued from its meeting held December l4, 1976. All members <br /> <br />of Council were present, viz., William D. Hobson, Mayor; William C. Cole, Jr., <br /> <br />Vice Mayor; Barry A. Greene; L. D. Oakes; and Francis T. West. <br /> <br />,'- <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held December l4, 1976, as read by City Manager Noland, who <br /> <br />was designated Acting Clerk for this meeting in the absence of W. H. Yeaman, <br /> <br />Clerk of Council. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on a proposal to rezone to "C-2 Commercial" Lots Nos. 25 and 26 fronting the <br /> <br />north side of Gravely Street and Lots Nos. 28 and 29 fronting the east side <br /> <br />of Moss Street, as shown on Section 32, Block Q, of the City's Tax Map, the <br /> <br />Gravely Street properties being owned by Mr. James C. Stone and the Moss Street <br /> <br />properties being owned by the City of Martinsvi11e, said proposal having been <br /> <br />approved by the City Planning Commission in its report thereon dated November <br /> <br />19, 1976. Mr. Herbert Berlin, owner of the remaining and contiguous portion of <br /> <br />the property located at the northeast corner of Gravely and Moss Streets, was <br /> <br />present at this meeting and, after expressing his opposition to the proposed <br /> <br />rezoning and his reasons for said objections, requested that this proposal be <br /> <br />- <br />
