<br />2.9' <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 14, 1976 <br /> <br />t!"-- <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor William D. Hobson presiding, was held Tuesday, December <br /> <br />14, 1976, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all <br /> <br />members being present, viz., William D. Hobson, Mayor; William C. Cole, Jr., <br /> <br />Vice Mayor; Barry A. Greene; L. D. Oakes; and Francis T. West. <br /> <br />,.-. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held November 23, 1976 and of its special meeting held <br /> <br />December 7, 1976. <br /> <br />On behalf of the Regional Health Department, Dr. Robert W. Hartley (Director <br /> <br />and Mr. Norman J. Paulsen (Administrator) presented to Council a check in <br /> <br />the amount of $2,158.64, payable to the City of Martinsville and <br /> <br />representing a return from the State Health Department of un-used and <br /> <br />budgeted funds paid to the State for 1975-76 as the City's share of the <br /> <br />cost of operating said Health Department. <br /> <br />.,- <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on a proposed amendment to the City's Charter, as incorporated in <br /> <br />a resolution duly adopted by Council at its meeting held November 23, 1976. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered by any citizens, nor any suggested <br /> <br />changes thereto by any member of Council, Council unanimously--and by a <br /> <br />recorded vote--approved of said proposed amendment and directed its <br /> <br />transmittal to the appropriate area representatives to the 1977 Virginia <br /> <br />General Assembly with the request that said amendment be introduced and <br /> <br />passed by said 1977 General Assembly. <br />
