<br />28~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 23, 1976 <br /> <br />,,- <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that a public hearing <br />shall be held, at which citizens of Martinsville shall have <br />the opportunity to be heard, to determine if said citizens <br />desire the Council to request the Virginia General Assembly <br />to enact the foregoing amendment; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that at least ten <br />(10) days' notice of the time and place of such public <br />hearing, and the text of the foregoing amendment, shall be <br />published in a newspaper of general circulation in the <br />City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />r-- <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing <br /> <br />on the request of Martinsville Travel, Inc., as filed under date of August 24, <br /> <br />1976 and subsequently approved by the Martinsville Planning Commission, seeking <br /> <br />a "P-2" zoning of petitioner's property at 16 Starling Avenue. There being no <br /> <br />objections registered and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's <br /> <br />recommendation thereon, Council unanimously adopted the following ordinance <br /> <br />amending the City's Zoning Map and effecting said requested rezoning: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-third <br />day of November, 1976, that the Zoning Map of the City of <br />Martinsville be--and is hereby--amended to effect and <br />reflect a "P-2 Professional" zoning of that property <br />identified as "l6 Starling Avenue" and presently owned by <br />Martinsville Travel, Inc. <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />Also, pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on the request of Bennett & Wilson, Realtors, dated October 11, 1976, <br /> <br />as enlarged and recommended for approval by the Planning Commission, seeking <br /> <br />a "P-2" zoning of property fronting the east side of Fairy Street Extension <br /> <br />and situated north of the Martinsville Elks (BPOE) Club property. There being <br /> <br />no objections registered and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's <br /> <br />recommendations thereon, Council unanimously adopted the following ordinance <br /> <br />amending the City's Zoning Map and effecting the rezoning of property therein <br /> <br />described: <br />
