<br />(- <br />h... <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 26, 1976 <br /> <br />--- <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council awarded a <br /> <br />contract to the firm of Bryant's Plumbing & Heating, in the amount of <br /> <br />$41,694.50 (being the lowest bid), for the construction of water and <br /> <br />sewer lines required for the recently-approved Clearview Palace <br /> <br />Subdivision, Clearview Drive, being developed by Finney & Blackard. <br /> <br />,.-- <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council called for a <br /> <br />special meeting of the Council to be held Monday, November 1, 1976, in <br /> <br />the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 9:00 A.M., for the purpose <br /> <br />of filling and/or considering the filling of the vacancy on Council <br /> <br />resulting from the resignation of Mayor-Councilman Fitz-Hugh as of <br /> <br />October 31, 1976 as well as the subsequent reorganization of the Council. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Hobson, on behalf of the Council, presented to Mayor Fitz-Hugh <br /> <br />a plaque in recognition and appreciation of Mr. Fitz-Hugh's service to <br /> <br />the City while a member of Council from September 1, 1974 through October 31, <br /> <br />1976 and as Mayor from September 1, 1976 through October 31, 1976. <br /> <br />,..-- <br /> <br />Mr. A. C. Gott, referring to an action taken by Council during this meeting <br /> <br />whereby the City's Department of Welfare name was changed to that of Department <br /> <br />of Social Services, with the position title of Superintendent being changed to <br /> <br />that of Director, inquired as to the organizational changes, if any, this <br /> <br />redesignation might bring about, to which City Manager Noland responded that no <br /> <br />changes would result therefrom. <br /> <br />- <br />r <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />\ <br />) ...1-~." i ( <br />W.
