<br />C', (~" .~ <br />~,--0 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 12, 1976 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsvil1e, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr., presiding, was held Tuesday, <br /> <br />October 12, 1976, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all <br /> <br />members being present, viz., G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr., Mayor; William D. Hobson, <br /> <br />Vice Mayor; Barry A. Greene; L. D. Oakes; and Francis T. West. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held September 28, 1976. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public <br /> <br />hearing on an Application for a Special-Use Permit, as filed with Council <br /> <br />on July 27, 1976, by Mr. Daniel C. Hairston (through his attorney, <br /> <br />Mr. Ebb H. Williams, III), requesting permission to remodel and convert <br /> <br />applicant's property, the former Community Hospital property, to a <br /> <br />twelve-unit apartment complex, which application carries the approval <br /> <br />of the Planning Commission, with amendments thereto, all made a part <br /> <br />of the notice of hearing. There being no objections to said application, <br /> <br />as amended by the Commission, Council unanimously approved same and <br /> <br />authorized the issuance of the requested permit to allow for the <br /> <br />converting of said property to a fourteen-unit apartment complex and <br /> <br />providing for the establishing of a variance from existing setbacks on <br /> <br />both the front and east side lines of the property. <br /> <br />Also, pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a <br /> <br />- <br />
