<br />(-' ('-~ <br />{..; ~:J <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 10, 1976 <br /> <br />citizens, particularly those who are homebound, who have no families. <br /> <br />Because of the conflict of Council's meeting scheduled for September 14, 1976 <br /> <br />with the 1976 Virginia Municipal League Convention to be held in Richmond, <br /> <br />Virginia, September 12th-14th, Council rescheduled its first regular meeting <br /> <br />in September to September 7th, should there be need for such a meeting. <br /> <br />..- <br /> <br />Because Liberty Heights Fairgrounds, beginning with 1977, will no longer be <br /> <br />available to the Martinsvi11e Volunteer Fire Company for the conduct of its <br /> <br />annual bazaars, for which Council issued a Special-Use Permit on May 28, 1974 <br /> <br />for a period of five years, this organization filed an application for a <br /> <br />Special-Use Permit for its annual bazaars to be conducted at Brown Street Field, <br /> <br />beginning with the year 1977, with closing hours each night at midnight. Council <br /> <br />referred this application to the Planning Commission for its consideration and <br /> <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />In connection with the proposed Brookda1e Road (Street) reconstruction project <br /> <br />(identified as Project UOOO-120-101, PE-10l, RW-201, C-50l), on or for which--it <br /> <br />was reported--bids will soon be advertised by the Virginia Department of Highways <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />& Transportation, Council unanimously adopted the following resolution, for the <br /> <br />signature of Mayor Boaz, certifying that all arrangements have been made or will <br /> <br />be made by the City for the relocation and/or adjustment of utility facilities, <br /> <br />as set forth in said resolution, as well as for the installation of new facilities: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation <br />proposes to construct or otherwise improve a section of <br />roadway from 0.006 miles east of the intersection of Route 58 <br />to 0.071 miles west of the intersection of Spruce Street, under <br />the designation of Highway Project UOOO-120-l0l, RW201; and <br />
