. i' {O
LOO

TUESDAY

MAY 11, 1976

Council referred to the Planning Commission--for its consideration and

recommendation--a petition filed by Messrs. William C. & Donald H. Edwards

requesting the rezoning from "C-2" to "C-3" that property located at 208

Fayette Street, to allow the conduct of a used-car business at said

location.

Council unanimously renewed for 1976 the Special-Use Permit issued May 28,

1974 to the Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company for the conduct by this

organization of its Annual Firemen's Bazaar at Liberty Heights Fairgrounds

during the week June 21st-26th (1976).

Councilman Barry Greene called to the public's attention that recently-

enacted legislation by the Virginia General Assembly, permitting motor

vehicular right-turns at street intersections controlled by stop-lights,

when on "red" unless otherwise prohibited, will not become effective until

January 1, 1977 and, therefore, the public should in no way assume that this

legislation is applicable before said January 1st.

Council was adjourned.

W.
