<br />('4 <br />_U..:.t <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 11, 1976 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council reappointed Messrs. <br /> <br />Worth H. Carter, Jr., and William W. Edwards, Jr., to membership on the City <br /> <br />School Board for three-year terms beginning July 1, 1976 and ending June 30, 1979. <br /> <br />Also, upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council appointed <br /> <br />Mrs. James W. Severt to membership--as the City's citizen representative--on <br /> <br />the West Piedmont Planning District Commission for a term beginning July 1, 1976 <br /> <br />and ending March 31, 1979, succeeding Mr. George W. Brown, resigned as of <br /> <br />June 30, 1976. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council ratified an action <br /> <br />by appropriate City officials in the executing, on May 7, 1976, of a contract <br /> <br />(and/or agreement) between the City of Martinsville and the Appalachian Power <br /> <br />Company, effective (and retroactive to) May 1, 1974 and ending April 30, 1979, <br /> <br />under the terms of which Appalachian Power Company will supply electric energy <br /> <br />to the City of Martinsvi1le for re-sale to the City's customers, pursuant to <br /> <br />conditions and tariffs made a part of this contract and/or agreement. <br /> <br />Council ordered made a part of these minutes the following abstract of votes <br /> <br />cast in the municipal councilmanic election held May 4, 1976, certifying the <br /> <br />re-election of Mr. William D. Hobson and the election of Messrs. L. D. Oakes <br /> <br />and Francis T. West to membership on the Martinsvi1le City Council for terms as <br /> <br />established by the City Charter, and as amended: <br /> <br />Harry L. Boaz <br />William D. Hobson <br />John R.
