<br />lb2 <br /> <br />APRIL 27, 1976 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the City's administrative officials, Council <br /> <br />approved the abandoning of a sanitary sewer line easement, deemed no <br /> <br />longer required, across property occupied by Hardee's Restaurant <br /> <br />located at the northwest corner of Bridge Street and Memorial <br /> <br />Boulevard, subject to dedication by the owner (Bodie-Noell <br /> <br />Enterprises, Inc.) of ten feet of right-of-way along Bridge Street <br /> <br />for the installation of a new sewer line. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged with appreciation a report from City Manager <br /> <br />Noland in which was presented the City's "composite" tax structure and <br /> <br />the favorable position of same in comparison with tax structures of <br /> <br />other first-class cities in Virginia. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried (by a roll-call vote), <br /> <br />Council convened into an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing <br /> <br />a personnel matter, viz., the appointing or reappointing of members to <br /> <br />severe1 boards and commissions upon the expiration of current terms. <br /> <br />Following this session, Council reconvened into regular session. <br /> <br />Mr. Warren M. Shaw, Attorney at Law and residing at 1213 Lanier Road, <br /> <br />expressed opposition to any "dog leash law", on which a referendum will <br /> <br />be conducted at the forthcoming May 4th councilmanic election. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />c.~ y. ~-,_ --.... . ~ <br />w.
