.50 / TUESDAY FEBRUARY 24, 1976 On behalf of the Patrick Henry Mental Hygiene Clinic, Dr. Joseph Leizer~ its Acting Director~ presented to the City a check from the Clinic, in the amount $5~732.11~ representing a refund of the un-used portion of the City's contribution to said Clinic for fiscal 1974-75. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice~ Council conducted a public hearing on a proposed amendment to Paragraph "c" of Section VI of the City's Zoning Ordinance~ as recommended by the City's Planning Commission under date of January 23~ 1976. After considering this proposa1~ and there being no objections thereto registered by anyone, Council unanimously adopted the following ordinance effecting said proposed amendment: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvi11e~ Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-fourth day of February~ 1976, that the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Martinsville be--and is hereby--amended, by the adding of the following~ as sub-paragraph 4, to Paragraph "c" of Section VI: 4. Where there is no building on either side of a street within a b1ock~ the front yard required in the R-6 Residential Zone shall not be less than thirty (30) feet, provided~ however~ that if the natural slope of the ground on either side of a street and within a block is such that the average difference in elevation between the finished centerline grade and the lot grade at the thirty (30) foot building line is greater than five (5) feet~ the building line for both sides of the street in that block shall be established where such difference in elevation is five (5) feet~ provided further that no such line shall be closer to the street line than twenty-five (25) feet. , _.....,,_"_.."'~"'-~___...;,,"'"""''''_,'"""._-..,",''__.'''''h''.,....;"_,*"~~.;_,,,....~;_",...__,~,"_,",",...."."..,,..___~____"____."-_._-",,.
