Dutton, President of Patrick Henry <br /> <br />Community College, on behalf of the Board of said College, Council authorized <br /> <br />the expenditure by said Board of the City's 1975-76 contribution to the <br /> <br />College toward the cost of improving the College's water supply system~ in <br /> <br />lieu of purposes for which the College had planned to use these funds when <br /> <br />it made its request for City funds during the preparation of the City's <br /> <br />1975-76 budget. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the City's Electoral Board, Council unanimously voted <br /> <br />not to establish a Central Absentee Voter Election District for the period <br /> <br />February 1, 1976 to February l~ 1977 and so authorized the certifying of <br /> <br />this action to the State Board of Elections and to the City's Electoral Board. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry and comments from Mr. Joseph Pritchett~ of 1203 <br /> <br />Maxine Road~ with Mr. Pritchett asserting that there is a need for making <br /> <br />available to the public the opportunity to register (for voting purposes) <br /> <br />during the evenings and Saturdays~ i. e. ~ after "work-hours" ~ Council referred <br /> <br />Mr. Pritchett to the City's Electoral Board <br /> <br />In connection with a suggestion offered by Mr. D. B. McCullough, of 712 <br /> <br />Parkview Avenue, pertaining to the possible widening of Commonwealth <br /> <br />Boulevard from Market Street west to the City's Corporate Limits~ perhaps <br /> <br />installing a temporary surface on any widened portions thereof~ Council was <br />
