<br />-' .,..,. <br />..it] <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JANUARY l3~ 1976 <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />Council was informed that advertising for bids--for the upgrading of the <br /> <br />City's water pollution control plan (sewerage treatment plant) to provide <br /> <br />a 6MGD secondary treatment facility--is now being scheduled~ with such <br /> <br />bids to be received on March 2, 1976. <br /> <br />In connection with Council's action taken on October 14, 1975~ wherein <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />approval was given to the establishing in Martinsville of a Federal <br /> <br />assistance rental subsidy program, Council was informed that~ in order to <br /> <br />establish and operate the office therefor~ the City must furnish the funds <br /> <br />therefor on a reimbursable basis~ i.e., from the Federal Government's <br /> <br />Housing & Urban Development agency; whereupon motion~ duly seconded~ and <br /> <br />by a recorded vote of the four members present, Council approved this <br /> <br />financing procedure with the understanding that reimbursements would be <br /> <br />made to the City at no greater intervals than a quarterly basis. Voting <br /> <br />in favor of the motion to approve were: Mayor Boaz~ Vice ~myor Hobson, <br /> <br />and Councilman Fitz-Hugh~ with Councilman Fitz-Hugh expressing disapproval <br /> <br />of the financing requirement; and, voting against the motion was Councilman <br /> <br />Lester. <br /> <br />,...-.. <br /> <br />Upon being advised that the services of the City's consulting engineers will <br /> <br />be required on a limited basis to coordinate and update the City's Comprehensive <br /> <br />Plan with the City's 1995 Land-Use Plan in accordance with revisions thereto now <br /> <br />under study by the Planning Commission~ with the engaging of such services being <br /> <br />recommended by the Planning Commission, Council unanimously (by a recorded vote) <br /> <br />authorized the engaging of the City's consulting engineers to perform this service <br />
