Section 6. 6-1 6-2 Any person or persons, jointly or severally, aggrieved by any decision of the board, or any taxpayer, or any officer, department, or agency of the City, within thirty days after the filing of the decision of the board in the office of the board, but not thereafter, may present to a court of record a petition duly verified, setting forth a claim that such decision is illegal, in whole or in part, and specifying the grounds of alleged illegality, whereupon such decision of said board shall be subject to review as provided by law. Penalties, Iniunctions, and Other LeRal Actions. A violation of this ordinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, the violator shall be subject to a fine not exceeding five- hundred ($500.00) dollars and/or twelve (12) months imprisonment for each violation. Each day the violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense (see Martinsville City Code Section 1-6). The Building Official may apply to the Circuit Court of the City of Martinsville for injunctive relief to enjoin a violation or a threatened violation of this ordinance, without the necessity of showing that there does not exist an adequate remedy at law. 6-3 The Commonwealth's Attorney shall, upon request of the Building Official, take legal action to enforce the provisions of this ordinance.
