TUESDAY OCTOBER 28, 1975 curb-and-gutter-and-sidewalk, along the south side of Commonwealth Boulevard for a distance of approximately six hundred feet, extending westward from property presently occupied by Mitchell-Howell Ford, said construction to be coordinated with development of this property by The Lester Group. In connection with an improvement project currently under construction by the City, involving the widening of West Church Street on the south side and the widening of South Bridge Street on the west side, adjacent to property occupied by the "downtown" U. S. postoffice, Council approved--for execution by an appropriate official of the City--an easement agreement with the General Services Administration of the United States Government. Upon being informed that an allocation has been made by the Federal Government's Urban Mass Transportation Administration in the amount of $28,000.00, supplemented by a State of Virginia allocation of $5,950.00, and with the City's share of estimated cost being $1,050.00, all for a proposed Urban Transit Technical Study (to cost a total of $35,000.00), identified as Project VA-09-00l6, Council unanimously authorized City Manager Noland to execute necessary documents on behalf of the City, i.e., with the Federal Government and the Commonwealth of Virginia, for the conduct of said study, including authorization of the expenditure by the City of its share of the cost of same.
