1"~ I .~. vU TUESDAY OCTOBER 28, 1975 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor Harry L. Boaz presiding, was held Tuesday, October 28, 1975, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz., Harry L. Boaz, Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice Mayor; G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; Barry A. Greene; and Morton W. Lester. After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular meeting held October 14, 1975. Council acknowledged receipt of a Planning Commission report advising the Council that Nationwide Homes has withdrawn its application (filed September 9, 1975) for a Special-Use Permit to allow applicant to establish and operate a building supply distributorship on applicant's property situated on the south side of Rives Road, at Drewry Road. Council also received from the Planning Commission a report (dated October 24, 1975) in which said Commission recommended that Council re-issue, for a period of eighteen months, a Special-Use Permit to Community Methods, Inc., based upon the same plans and conditions as those under which the initial Permit was issued on August 22, 1972 to Community Methods, to allow applicant to construct an apartment complex on a tract of land consisting of approximately 9.65 acres situated on the north side of Spruce Street, opposite the intersections of said Spruce Street with Auburn Place and Prospect Hill Drive. In tentative acceptance of said recommendation, Council called for a duly-advertisied public hearing to be conducted on this application (received September 9, 1975) at Council's forthcoming meeting scheduled for November 25, 1975.
