King as Superintendent of the City's Department of Social Services, <br /> <br />effective September 1, 1975, succeeding Mr. Odell W. Gray, who resigned as <br /> <br />Superintendent on July 31, 1975, to take a position with the State Department of <br /> <br />Welfare. <br /> <br />Council referred to City Manager Noland a request filed by Mr. John J. A. Sanders, <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />of 308 Starling Avenue, asking the City to remove an electric utility pole from <br /> <br />near a driveway or public alley adjacent to Mr. Sanders' property. <br /> <br />In a final action of this meeting, Council referred to the Planning Commission, for <br /> <br />its consideration and recommendation, a written request (dated September 9, 1975) <br /> <br />submitted by Mr. James W. Severt, President and Chief Executive Officer of <br /> <br />Nationwide Homes, Inc., seeking the issuance of a Special-Use Permit to allow <br /> <br />applicant to establish and operate a building supply distributorship on applicant's <br /> <br />property located on the southeast side of Rives Road Extension at its intersection <br /> <br />with Drewry Road, this being the property for which applicant's request for an <br /> <br />"M-3 Industrial" zoning was denied, as hereinbefore covered in these minutes. <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />'i -:b <br />W.
