<br />..)1 ,~ <br />.i.tj: <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 8, 1975 <br /> <br />representing taxes paid by and for the Oakley Estate over the immediate <br /> <br />past seven years on a tract of land, consisting of approximately l~ acres, <br /> <br />situated at or near Morrison and Greenwood Streets, in the Sylvan Ridge area <br /> <br />of the City, it having been determined that the Oakley Estate has never <br /> <br />owned this property although, erroneously, the estate has been assessed <br /> <br />with taxes thereon for more than the seven years. <br /> <br />Council filed, for consideration at its forthcoming annual review, a request <br /> <br />for the construction of sidewalk along the west side of Starling Avenue, <br /> <br />between Cleveland Avenue and Hairston Street. <br /> <br />Council referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and <br /> <br />recommendation, a petition filed by Nationwide Homes, Inc., requesting <br /> <br />the rezoning of its property (of some two acres) situated on the south side <br /> <br />of Rives Road Extension, near Drewry Road, from its present "R-9" zoning <br /> <br />to an "M-3" zoning to permit the development of said property for usage <br /> <br />as a wholesale supply distributorship. <br /> <br />Council also referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and <br /> <br />recommendation, a petition filed by Mr. M. J. Kilby requesting permission <br /> <br />to extend a City water line some forty-five feet to serve Lot No. 56 on <br /> <br />Sunset Drive, in Henry County. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland reported on the extent of property damage from a <br /> <br />windstorm which occured on Thursday afternoon, April 3, 1975, during which <br /> <br />storm a transformer at the City's downtown substation burned out, resulting <br /> <br />in downtown power interruption for some two hours. City Manager Noland reported, <br /> <br />too, that the cost of rewiring and/or repairing the damaged transformer will be <br /> <br />approximately $8,000.00, with the question yet to be resolved as to whether this <br />
