<br />j <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 8, 1975 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor Harry L. Boaz presiding, was held Tuesday, April 8, <br /> <br />1975, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members <br /> <br />being present, viz., Harry L. Boaz, Mayor; William D. Hobson, Vice Mayor; <br /> <br />G. S. Fitz-Hugh, Jr.; Barry A. Greene; and Morton W. Lester. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its <br /> <br />regular meeting held March 25, 1975. <br /> <br />After receiving a report from City Attorney David B. Worthy, setting forth <br /> <br />procedures required under amended State statutes for establishing liens on <br /> <br />delinquent real estate taxes, Council concurred in the suggestion that the <br /> <br />City Treasurer proceed with the public advertising of delinquent real estate <br /> <br />taxes, pursuant to the provisions of the amended statutes, following which <br /> <br />Council will determine if chancery suit processes will be initiated. <br /> <br />-<- <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council appointed <br /> <br />Dr. John D. French as a member of the "Chapter 10" Board of the Piedmont <br /> <br />Regional Mental Health & Mental Retardation Services agency for a term <br /> <br />expiring December 31, 1977, filling the vacancy thereon (as one of the <br /> <br />City's two member-representatives) resulting from the expiration on December 31, <br /> <br />1974, of the term of Mrs. Frances H. Monday. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized the <br /> <br />refunding of some thirty dollars ($30.00) to the J. B.
