<br />A regular work session of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia,
<br />
<br />was held on October 10, 2006, in Council Chamber, Municipal Building,
<br />
<br />beginning at 4:00 P. M., with Mayor Kimble Reynolds presiding. Council
<br />
<br />Members present included: Kimble Reynolds, Jr., Mayor; James W. Clark, Vice
<br />

<br />Mayor and Council Members Mark T. Anderson and Kathy C. Lawson. Council
<br />
<br />Member Ferrill was absent. Mayor Reynolds opened the meeting.

<br />Council considered the need to adopt an Ordinance, on second reading,
<br />
<br />to rezone 1104,1106,1108,1109,1110,1112,1114, and 1115 Fishel Street,
<br />
<br />from M-2 Industrial to R-9 Residential and an Ordinance to amend the
<br />
<br />Proposed Land Use Map to indicate these parcels as Medium Density
<br />
<br />Residential rather than the present designation of Industrial. Council Member
<br />
<br />Lawson moved to adopt the following Ordinance, on second reading; the motion
<br />
<br />was duly seconded and carried by the following roll call vote, all members
<br />
<br />voting: Vote: 4-0. Yeas: (4) - Reynolds, Clark, Anderson, Lawson. Nays: (0) -
<br />
<br />None. Absent (1) - Ferrill.

<br />AN ORDINANCE
<br />AMENDING THE ZONING MAP
<br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session assembled
<br />September 26, 2006, that in order to assure compliance with Virginia Code Section 15.2-2200, it is stated
<br />that the purpose for which this Ordinance is initiated is to promote the public health, safety, convenience
<br />and welfare of its citizens and to plan for the future development of the community, that the Zoning Map
<br />of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be-- and is hereby -- amended to the extent that 1104, 1106, 1108,
<br />1109, 1110, 1112, 1114, and 1115 Fishel Street, Parcels 47(01)00/02, 03 & 47(02)00/3A-3F on the Tax
<br />Map of the City ofMartinsville, is hereby rezoned from M-2 Industrial to R-9 Residential.
