<br />...., f" <br />.0 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 25, 1980 <br /> <br />7. Violation of the terms of this ordinance shall be a <br />misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $soa.oo <br />and/or a jail sentence not to exceed six months in jail. <br /> <br />8. Every dealer shall keep at his place of business a register <br />in which he shall record with respect to each purchase of <br />any of the items set forth in numbered paragraph one the <br />following information: <br />a. A complete and accurant description of the goods, <br />articles or things purchased, traded, bartered or <br />exchanged, including the number of items; <br />b. The time and date of receiving the same; <br />c. The amount of money paid for the same or goods <br />traded, bartered, or exchanged; and <br />d. The name and complete.and accurate address of <br />the person selling the goods, articles or <br />things, which information, in the event that <br />the dealer does not personally know said person, <br />shall be taken from a valid driver's license or <br />special identification card issued by the State <br />Division of Motor Vehicles, together with a <br />particular description of such person. <br />The aforesaid register shall be open to inspection by any <br />federal, state or local law enforcement officers during business <br />hours, or at the request of the Chief of Police thereafter. <br />Permanent dealers shall be required to comply with the terms <br />of this paragraph only with respect to scrap gold and silver <br />received by them. Scrap gold and silver shall be defined as <br />items of gold and silver received by a dealer in order to be <br />resold or otherwise transferred by said dealer for the purpose <br />of being melted down. <br /> <br />9. Every dealer as hereinbefore defined shall admit to his <br />premises during business hours any federal, state of local <br />law enforcement officer to examine any item purchased, and <br />to search for and to take into possession any article <br />known by him to be missing or known or believed by him to <br />have been stolen, after the presentation to the dealer of <br />an affidavit thereof and a receipt for any items taken. <br /> <br />10. No dealer shall purchase, buy or receive, directly or <br />indirectly, any item subject to the terms of this ordinance <br />from any person under the age of eighteen years of age. <br /> <br />II. All itinerant dealers as hereinbefore defined shall hold <br />any merchandise purchased that is subject to the terms of <br />this ordinance on the premises intact, without any change <br />or alteration, for inspection by any law enforcement officer, <br />for a period of 72 hours. In addition, all itinerant dealers, <br />at the close of business each day, shall deliver to the Chief <br />of Police the information required to be kept in the register <br />relating to all transactions conducted on that particular day. <br /> <br />12. Separability: Invalidity of any section of this ordinance <br />shall not affect the remainder. <br />
