<br />(,... r.. ,... <br />" 'c; 0 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br />, - ~ <br /> <br />JUNE 24, 1980 <br /> <br />Winston Street and Memorial Boulevard, contingent upon the selling by the <br /> <br />City to Mr. Price of two tract residues (owned by the City) adjacent to Mr. <br /> <br />Price's property, which two tracts--if acquired by Mr. Price and on which he <br /> <br />has requested negotiations with the City toward acquiring--would be included <br /> <br />in the Planning Commission's consideration. <br /> <br />Council unanimously authorized City Manager Noland to execute an agreement by <br /> <br />which the City will lease to Mr. A. Paul Reynolds (of Reynolds Radio Service), <br /> <br />in consideration of one dollar ($1.00) per year, all of Lot 6A, owned by the <br /> <br />City of Martinsville, as situated on the northwesterly side of Memorial <br /> <br />Boulevard and on the northeasterly side of Henry Street, between Lot 7A owned <br /> <br />by Mr. Reynolds and Lot 5 owned by Hardees, Inc., all as shown on Section 42 of <br /> <br />the City's Realty Maps. <br /> <br />By memorandum dated June 24, 1980, Mr. George W. Brown, Assistant City Manager <br /> <br />& Public Works Director, recommended that Council adjust (i.e., increase) the <br /> <br />City's water and sewer tariffs (rates), with future annual reviews of these <br /> <br />tariffs, to meet increasing operation~aintenance costs of the water and sewer <br /> <br />systems as well as to provide depreciation reserves, the latter being required <br /> <br />by accepted accounting principles. <br /> <br />Meanwhile, Council requested of Mr. Brown a status report on the City's UDAG <br /> <br />project(s), reflecting costs incurred to date as well as total projected cost(s). <br /> <br />Council unanimously concurred in a proposal whereby the City Registrar's Office <br /> <br />will be open for voter registration on the second and fourth Saturdays in <br /> <br />September (prior to a General Election in November) and on the second and fourth <br /> <br />---'___~__'_'~M_~"'_"'''''___'_~__""",~____,_~_"_,____,,___ <br />
