<br />('" .r\ ,-" <br />, " , , \,) <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 10, 1980 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor William D. Hobson presiding, was held Tuesday, June 10, <br /> <br />1980, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members <br /> <br />being present, viz., William D. Hobson, Mayor; William C. Cole, Jr., Vice-Mayor; <br /> <br />Barry A. Greene; L. D. Oakes; and Francis T. West. Councilman-Elect Henry C. <br /> <br />Reed was also present. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its special <br /> <br />meetings held May 22nd and May 23rd (1980) and of its regular meeting held <br /> <br />May 27, 1980. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on <br /> <br />City Manager Noland's proposed 1980-81 City Budget, as revised. At the suggestion <br /> <br />of Councilman Greene, Council directed the adding of $25,000.00 to the proposed <br /> <br />Thoroughfare Construction account (to parallel the amount appropriated for 1979-80). <br /> <br />There being no objections registered to the proposed 1980-8l City Budget, as <br /> <br />revised (except, subsequently, the reiteration by Mr. William B. Muse of previously- <br /> <br />expressed concerns over the closing of the City's Day Care Center), Council (upon <br /> <br />motion, duly seconded and by a recorded vote) unanimously adopted said proposed <br /> <br />1980-81 City Budget, as revised, by its adoption of the following appropriation <br /> <br />ordinance: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS OF SUMS OF MONEY FOR ALL <br />NECESSARY EXPENDITURES OF THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA, <br />FOR ITS FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1981. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled, that the following <br />sums of money be and hereby are appropriated--by funds--for <br />fiscal year ending June 30, 1981, from fund sources of <br />estimated revenue, as follows: <br />
