This, <br />in our opinion, is but one indication of his outstanding <br />character. Moreover, he has been quick to speak up for the <br />salaries of his employees but he has always remained silent <br />on the subject of his own salary. We regret that it has <br />taken Council until now to realize this; nevertheless, we <br />now welcome the opportunity to do something about it before <br />Mr. Noland retires. At the same time, we desire to have the <br />benefit of Mr. Noland's services, for consultation with our <br />new City Manager, for a period of one year. I hereby move <br />that we adjust Mr. Noland's 1979-80 fiscal year salary by <br />$10,000.00, making for a total fiscal 1979-80 salary of <br />$41,800.00 because we believe that he has been underpaid for <br />a number of years as our City Manager. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />W. <br /> <br /> <br />, Clerk of Council <br />
