<br />,... ,~ <br /> <br />( , <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 13, 1980 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor William D. Hobson presiding, was held Tuesday, May 13, 1980, <br /> <br />in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being <br /> <br />present, viz., William D. Hobson, Mayor; William C. Cole, Jr., Vice-Mayor; Barry A. <br /> <br />Greene; L. D. Oakes; and Francis T. West. <br /> <br />After tne invocation, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held April 22, 1980 and of its special meeting held May 8, 1980. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-published notice, Council conducted a public hearing on Mr. Ryland <br /> <br />Richardson's petition, filed February 12, 1980, seeking a rezoning of the rear portion <br /> <br />of his property fronting 721~ Stultz Road. There being no objections to this petition <br /> <br />and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation that said petition be <br /> <br />granted, Council unanimously effected said rezoning through its adoption of the <br /> <br />following ordinance amending the City'z Zoning Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this thirteenth day of May, 1980, that <br />the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is <br />hereby--amended to effect an "M-3 Industrial" zoning classification <br />for all of that tract of land owned by Mr. Ryland Richardson and <br />situated at 721~ Stultz Road, consisting of 3.73 acres, with the <br />exception of that portion fronting Stultz Road for a distance of <br />118.96 feet and whose side lot lines extend from Stultz Road 131.88 <br />feet adjacent to property owned by Robert S. Martin and 181.13 <br />feet adjacent to property owned by T. W. Clifton and whose rear <br />lot line, separating the herein "M-3" zoned tract and the property <br />to remain zoned "R-9 Residential", extends 210 feet from the rear <br />lot lines of the Martin and Clifton properties. <br /> <br />Mr. W. Jack Lester, President of the Lacy Corporation, accompanied by his firm's <br /> <br />counsel, Mr. Douglas K. Frith, Attorney at Law, appeared before Council in connection <br />
