~ r', 4) I I!-.,/ HONDAY NOVEMBER 19, 1979 A duly-authorized meeting of the Council of the City of Hartinsville, Virginia, replacing its regularly-scheduled meeting for Tuesday, November 27, 1979, was conducted jointly with the Henry County Board of Supervisors at the Henry County Administration Building, Kings Hountain Road, Monday, November 19, 1979, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members of Council being present, viz., William D. Hobson, Mayor; William C. Cole, Jr., Vice Hayor; Barry A. Greene; L. D. Oakes; and Francis T. West. The purpose of this meeting was to consider and/or act upon the two matters cited in the minutes of Council's regular meeting held November 13, 1979, as well as such other matters brought to Council's attention. After discussing various aspects of a report and recommendation presented by a special committee of the two governmental jurisdictions (which committee was composed of Henry County Supervisor James W. Wagoner, Henry County's Central Accountant Jimmie L. Wright, City Councilmen Barry A. Greene and L. D. Oakes, City Manager Thomas B. Noland, and City Finance Director W. H. Yeaman), evaluating the data processing needs of the two jurisdictions as well as the bids recently received for the installation and operation of separate but compatible computer systems for the two jurisdictions, the two jurisdictions accepted the special committee's report and recommendation as well as authorized and empowered this committee to accept the bid presented by Cogebec Information, Inc., of Montreal (Quebec), Canada, with computer hardware to be supplied through this bidder by Wang Laboratories, Inc., of Lowell, Massachusetts, subject to some revisions in hardware configuration and to the preparation of "covering" contracts (to be approved by legal counsel for the City and the County), and with the method of financing the cost to be determined subsequently and independently by each governing body.
