<br />" <br /> <br />l.... ..;.)" <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 13, 1979 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />that the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Martinsville be--and is <br />hereby--amended, by the adding of the following, as sub-paragraph <br />10 to Paragraph "c" of Section VIII of said ordinance: <br /> <br />10. Day Care Centers. Day Care Centers, as permitted <br />in R-6 Residential Districts, may be permitted in R-9 <br />Residential districts, subject to this section and to <br />those requirements set forth for this usage in R-6 <br />Residential districts. The petition for a Special- <br />Use Permit shall be accompanied by plans showing: <br />a. the topography of the site at contour <br />intervals no greater than five feet; <br />b. the location and approximate size of <br />existing and proposed buildings and/or <br />structures within three hundred (300) <br />feet adjacent thereto; and <br />c. proposed grading, structures or alterations <br />to existing structures, including elevations, <br />screening, parking, signs, and other elements <br />as may be stipulated by the City Councilor <br />by the Planning Commisison. <br /> <br />In connection with the foregoing Zoning Ordinance amendment, Council conducted a duly- <br /> <br />advertised public hearing on an Application for a Special-Use Permit, as filed by Clearview <br /> <br />Wesleyan Church (filed September II, 1979), to allow petitioner to operate a day-care <br /> <br />center at its church premises at 925 Barrows Mill Road. There being no objections to this <br /> <br />application and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation that same be <br /> <br />approved, Council unanimously issued said permit for the purpose stated. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on a petition <br /> <br />(filed September II, 1979) by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brammer (through Mrs. Christine M. <br /> <br />Bennett, Vice President of Bennett & Wilson, Realtors) seeking a "P-2 Professional" <br /> <br />zoning of their property at 403 Starling Avenue. There being no objections registered <br /> <br />and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation that the petition be granted, <br /> <br />Council unanimously effected the requested "P-2" zoning of said property through its <br /> <br />adoption of the following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Map: <br /> <br />
