<br />f' r~ <br />~, ',,) <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 10, 1979 <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />In acceptance of the City's administrative staff recommendations, Council approved a curb- <br /> <br />and-gutter and/or sidewalk and/or street-widening schedule of selected and alternative <br /> <br />projects for 1979-S0, as viewed by Council during its annual inspection tour conducted the <br /> <br />afternoon of July 10, 1979. <br /> <br />Subject to the conditions attached to a Special-Use Permit issued by Council on April 22, <br /> <br />1975 to The Exchange Club of Martinsville, to allow for the conduct and sponsorship by said <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />organization of its annual Martinsville-Henry County Fair (at Liberty Heights Fairgrounds) <br /> <br />dur~ng the years 1975 through 1979, Council continued said permit in force for said Fair to <br /> <br />be conducted during the period August 29, 1979 through September 3, 1979. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland informed Council that the Martinsville Farmers Market Association will <br /> <br />officially open its produce market, at the City's Fayette Street Parking Lot, on July II, 1979, <br /> <br />beginning at 9:00 A.M. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland also informed Council that proposals have been received from two bond <br /> <br />investment firms to serve, under contractual arrangements, as the City's financial advisors <br /> <br />should the City's "Ridgeway" hydro-electric project be undertaken, and for which the results <br /> <br />of geologic and related studies, now underway, should be available from the City's consulting <br /> <br />engineers within the next four-to-six weeks. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />( .
