Fly the Project area including reservoir and Project features, <br />and take black and white and color aerial photographs. <br /> <br />c. By photogrammetric methods compile draft manuscript maps of the <br />dam site area only. <br /> <br />2. Geology and Subsurface Investigations <br /> <br />a. Review regional geology, seismicity and fault locations and <br />interpret aerial photographs with respect to regional geological features such <br />as lineaments, folding, faulting, etc. Review all available geological reports <br />and data of the Project area. <br /> <br />b. Conduct geological reconnaissance and prepare a first phase <br />surficial geological map in the vicinity of the Project features. <br /> <br />c. Perform an initial subsurface exploration program in the vicinity <br />of the dam site including approximately three diamond core borings at critical <br />locations at the dam valley and left abutment, and in the spillway area. <br /> <br />I d. Carry out refraction seismic surveys at the dam-site-spillway <br />area and correlate with drill holes and geological mapping. <br />! <br /> <br />e. Prepare an interim report on the geotechnical investigations. <br /> <br />3. Office Investigations <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />a. Based on the results of the geotechnical investigations, revise <br />the dam, spillways and powerhouse. <br /> <br />b. Update Project cost estimates and construction schedule. <br /> <br />c. Reanalyze Project economics based on upgraded cost estimates. <br /> <br />d. Review and coordinate field investigations. <br /> <br />e. Prepare an Interim Evaluation Report encompassing the results <br />of these Phase II studies. This report will be submitted in draft form for <br />review and comments by the City prior to submittal of 50 copies of the final <br />report. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL <br /> <br />The same lead personnel listed in our proposal of November 1978 <br />would be engaged on the studies. We propose to retain the services of our <br />special consultant in the geotechnical field, Converse Ward Davis Dixon Asso- <br />ciates, to perform the geotechnical investigations. }rr. O'Neill, Vice President <br />of that firm, performed the geological reconnaissance for the Appraisal Study. <br /> <br />SCHEDULE <br /> <br />We estimate the Phase II A work will take about seven (7) months to <br />complete, following authorization to proceed~ Mapping of the dam site area <br />
