Midkiff, <br /> <br />The Reverend R. T. Anderson, Mr. J. Burness Frith, Mr. Roy E. Frith, Mr. David H. Gleasman, <br /> <br />Mr. J. A. Gustin, Mr. James W. Hopkins (Assistant to the City's Public Works Director), <br /> <br />Mr. Herbert O. Hughes (City Recreation Director), Dr. David C. Jones, Mr. Walter W. <br /> <br />Massie, and Mr. W. K. Putney, Jr. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Attorney Worthy, citing pending litigation between the County <br /> <br />of Henry and the City of Martinsville (involving extension of water service outside the <br /> <br />City's corporate limits), Council deferred action on Mr. Jimmie R. Ford's petition <br /> <br />(filed November 14, 1978, and recommended for approval by the Planning Commission under <br /> <br />date of January 5, 1979) seeking water service for a four-unit apartment building <br /> <br />Mr. Ford plans to construct in the Woodland Heights Subdivision, outside the City's <br /> <br />corporate limits, although the City owns the water distribution system serving this <br /> <br />subdivision and has provided water service therein for a number of years. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the Planning Commission, Council unanimously approved the <br /> <br />modification of the Special-Use Permit issued to Nationwide Homes, Inc., under date <br /> <br />of April 25, 1978, involving Nationwide's apartment complex development at the intersection <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />of Drewry Road with Rives Road (Extension). <br /> <br />Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council at its <br /> <br />forthcoming January 23rd meeting qn a petition--supported by the CBD Commission and <br /> <br />approved by the Planning Commission--filed by Leatherwood Land Company (under date of <br /> <br />October 12, 1978), seeking (1) the rezoning of its property opposite the intersection <br />
