I <br />~X <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL 11, 1978 <br /> <br />Council accepted, with regrets, the resignation (effective May 1, 1978) of Mr. Robert T. <br /> <br />George as Chairman-Member of the City's Administrative Welfare Board, it being noted <br /> <br />that Mr. George will soon be leaving Martinsvi11e. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Cole, noting the forthcoming annual meeting (April 12-l4th) of the Virginia <br /> <br />Municipal Electric Power Association in Manassas, Virginia, which he will be attending <br /> <br />with City Manager Noland and Electric Director Robert Corekin, inquired of Council as <br /> <br />to whether it officially wishes to take a position on the "Electric Authorities Bill", <br /> <br />as introduced in the 1978 Virginia General Assembly and carried forward, with certain <br /> <br />amendments, to the 1979 General Assembly Session. <br /> <br />By a recorded and unanimous vote, and pursuant to Section 2-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA <br /> <br />(1950, and as amended), Council convened into an Executive Session to receive a briefing <br /> <br />on the status of negotiations involving a real estate matter, following which Session <br /> <br />Council reconvened into regular meeting and announced that this matter does not yet <br /> <br />require action of the Council. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br /><'~\~""\' '-. <br /> <br />W.
