TUESDAY JANUARY 10, 1978 _. Pursuant to the request filed by the local Father O'Kane Council (No. 6538) of the Knights of Columbus, Council transferred the "Bingo" permit issued October 8, 1974 to St. Joseph's Catholic Church from said Church to said Knights of Columbus Council, noting that the Church Board of St. Joseph's has joined in with said request. - Pursuant to the request of the Piedmont Regional Mental Health & Mental Retardation Services Board ("Chapter 10 Board"), Council unanimously extended the term of Dr. John D. French, as a City member of said Board, to June 30, 1978, Dr. French's initial term having expired on December 31, 1977. The Board informed Council that Dr. French is not only willing to accept this extension of his term but also is willing to accept a new three-year term beginning July 1, 1978. Council acknowledged with appreciation both Dr. French's willingness to serve in this important capacity and his noteworthy contributions to the community through this service. At the request of Wells & Donavant Construction Company, with whom Council authorized (under date of October 25, 1977) the entering into a contract or agreement providing for a water connection and water service for a twelve-unit apartment complex on Chatham Road, outside the City's corporate limits, Council approved the transfer of said contract or agreement and/or the executing thereof by the City to Garrett Wells & Associates, the latter firm being owned and operated by the principals of Wells & Donavant Construction Company. Council referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration, a property rezoning petition submitted by Graves Supply Company, Inc., seeking the rezoning to "M-l" of petitioner's property identified as Lots "A" and "B" situated> on the west side of Harris Street, which property adjoins petitioner's presently-zoned "M-l" property.
