<br />-, r,s" <br />, . <br />. ~i l, <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 24, 1982 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council accepted the Planning <br /> <br />Commission's recommendation on this petition and, to effect same, adopted the following <br /> <br />ordinance amending the City's Zoning Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvil1e, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled August 24, 1982, that the Zoning Map of <br />the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended to <br />reclassify from "R-6 Residential" to "P-2 Professional" that certain <br />property located at 301 Starling Avenue and owned by Paul S. Davis, <br />identified as Lot No. 27 on Section 43 of the Tax Map of the City <br />of Martinsvi1le. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after <br />August 24, 1982. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on <br /> <br />Pannill Knitting Company's petition seeking the rezoning to "M-3 Industrial" of the <br /> <br />former Water Street right-of-way (abandoned in favor of petitioner by Council's action <br /> <br />taken July 13, 1982) as well as six adjacent lots situated on the north side thereof. <br /> <br />There being no objections registered and in acceptance of the Planning Commission's <br /> <br />recommendation that the rezoning request be granted, Council adopted the following <br /> <br />ordinance amending the City's Zoning Map and effecting the requested rezoning: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvi1le, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled the twenty-fourth day of August, 1982, <br />that the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsvi11e be--and is hereby-- <br />amended to reclassify from "R-6 Residential" to "M-3 Industrial" <br />that property owned by Pannill Knitting Company, Inc., and identified <br />as the Water Street right-of-way abandoned in favor of Panni1l <br />Knitting Company, Inc., by action taken by Martinsville City Council <br />on July 13, 1982, as well as Lots Nos. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 situated <br />on the north side of said abandoned right-of-way, all as shown on <br />Section 33 of the Tax Map of the City of Martinsvi11e, Virginia. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after <br />August 24, 1982. <br /> <br />Pursuant to published notice, Council conducted a public hearing on an ordinance (as <br />
